A graduate of Columbia College's film school in Chicago, Ray Nowosielski made his feature directing-writing-producing debut with 2006's '9/11 Press For Truth', telling the powerful story of the Sept. 11th families' fight for the 9/11 Commission. The documentary premiered theatrically in New York City and the San Francisco Bay area and, with the assistance of Robert Greenwald's Brave New Theaters, was rolled out in over fifty cities. On the fifth anniversary of the attacks, the movie played on televisions throughout the Middle East on Al Jazeera and eventually also aired on TV in Spain, Norway, Poland, and in the United States on satellite channel LinkTV. It was official selected into the 2007 'It's All True' Documentary Film Festival (Brazil), 2007 Guadalajara International Film Festival (Mexico), and 2007 Seattle True Independent Film Festival (U.S.). The DVD is currently available at stores nationwide, including Borders, Virgin Megastore, Suncoast, Coconuts, and Sam Goody's. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Nowosielski spent his life in Indianapolis where at age 16 he helped create the teen-produced entertainment newsmagazine TV series '360 Degrees'. The series, now in its tenth season on Indianapolis' MTV2, has featured original interviews with Destiny's Child, Boyz II Men, Magic Johnson, Kenan Thompson, and many other big names. Nowosielski co-founded film production company Banded Artists in 2001 and is company president/CEO. Today, Banded Artists has branches in Los Angeles, Chicago, Indianapolis, and Austin where teams of producers are developing diverse materials including narrative features, documentary, and television series.
